Edward served in the 13th Battalion A.I.F. He departed Sydney on the 'Ceramic' 7 October 1916 and arrived France via England January 1917. He was wounded in action (exhaustion) Belgium 12 June 1917. Edward had two brothers who served. George Alexander Huggett (Private 2090) was Killed in Action at Passchendaele and James F Huggett (7743) who was wounded and returned to Australia.
